Two months before the cinema release of “La Dégustation”, StudioCanal unveils the trailer. The first images show a light romantic comedy with Bernard Campan and Isabelle Carré.
A little love and wine
After Venice is not in Italy (2019) with Benoît Poelvoorde, and earlier The Student and Monsieur Henri (2015), Ivan Calberac tackles a romantic comedy titled The tasting. As the name suggests, wine glasses fill up and love adds to the brew in the trailer. “When life is a little too grey, it feels good to have a little splash of red“says Jacques. The latter is manager of a wine cellar who takes care of tasting workshops. On his side, Hortense dreams of having a child and take control of his life. When she meets Jacques and participates in his tasting sessions of the best wines in the area, she discovers a broken man. Between them, perhaps more than a simple friendship is created.
From theater to cinema
In the cast, we first find Bernard Campan. Since his debut and his sketches shared with Didier Bourdon and Pascal Légitimus, the actor has come a long way. From now on, he finds himself sometimes on television, sometimes on the big screen. Evidenced by his role in the feature film Almost released in January 2022, where he plays an undertaker who befriends a disabled young man.
For The tasting, Isabelle Carré gives him the reply. The French actress plays the role of Hortense. This will be his second feature film of the year with Lionel Baier’s film entitled Continental Drift (to the South).
Regarding the other names of the distribution of The tasting, we find in particular Éric Viellard, Mounir Amamra, and Olivier Claverie – three actors present in the original representation. Because originally The tasting is a play by the same author (Ivan Calbérac) performed at the Théâtre de la Renaissance, already with Isabelle Carré and Bernard Campan. She won the Molière 2019 for comedy. As for the adaptation to the cinema, it comes out August 31, 2022.
