Sunbreak, the extension of Monster Hunter Rise, had its Digital Event two months before its release. It’s time for the recap with the release date, a trailer, images, and information.
Monster Hunter Rise’s first big expansion, Sunbreak, is on the way. And before going to demolish beasts or capture them, with respect, Capcom wanted to introduce its DLC in detail. Back to the Digital Monster Hunter announcements.
A summer outing with lots of new features
Monster Hunter Rise’s Sunbreak expansion will therefore land on June 30, 2022, on Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) at the price of 39.99€. Pre-orders are open and make sure you have the base game. Booking gives access to the Chomsky “Faithful Dog Costume” and Palico “Striped Cat Costume” special armor sets.
The trailer above lists the new features: new campaign, the Elgado outpost, updated bestiary, and abilities. Provided you have completed Rise.
Moreover, to encourage players and train them, Capcom has added weapons and armor. And by the time the DLC is released, there will be a 13GB update on Switch and PC. This patch will be used to take advantage of balances, item packs, and other free items.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak: the choice of versions and Amiibo
If the collector’s edition is not yet confirmed for France, the three new Amiibo, yes. They will be based on Malzeno and will help you unlock special armors (Hunter, Chomsky, and Palico) in-game.
France will host three editions:
- Editing Standard: the extension only in dematerialized form
- Editing Deluxe: the extension filled with bonuses (armors, emotes, and hairstyles)
- One Monster Hunter Rise (standard edition) + Sunbreak bundle in digital and physical. Except on PC where there will be no boxed version. And on Switch, Sunbreak will of course be in code form, even in physics
The story takes its course
The expansion will resume after the Battle of Kamura ended in victory. Your new mission is to mingle with the Knights of the Royal Order to avoid a potential catastrophe caused by the Three Lords. A band of monsters consisting of Garangolm, Lunagaron, and Malzeno.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak begins after the heroic defense of Kamura Village against Calamity in Monster Hunter Rise. News of the village’s survival inspires the valiant knight Lady Fiorayne to travel from the distant Kingdom to seek help. Monster Hunters brave enough to answer his call will head to the Elgado Outpost.
The threat to the Kingdom is intertwined with fearsome creatures known as the Three Lords and inspired by classic figures of Western horror. This dangerous trio includes the all-new Garangolm, the fearsome Fanged Wyvern Lunagaron, and the Elder Dragon Malzeno. In addition to these nightmarish new enemies, other variants of monsters and ancient creatures beloved by fans in past episodes, such as the Bishaten Orange and the mighty Astalos, will appear to challenge Hunters in rank difficulty quests. Investigation into the doings of the Three Lords will lead adventurers across the Kingdom to exciting new locations, such as the all-new Citadel. The latter is made up of snow-capped peaks that cascade over lush forests teeming with new endemic life forms. At the center of this vast region is a long-abandoned fortress that serves as a stronghold for the monsters it was meant to fend off.
