Prime Video unveils the first images of its new series “The Summer I Became Pretty”, adapted from the eponymous novel by Jenny Han. Check out the trailer for this new program.

In the register of fiction intended for adolescents and young adults, Jenny Han is one of the most prominent authors of the moment. The Korean-American writer is enjoying a meteoric rise when Netflix decides to adapt its trilogy The Loves of Lara Jean. In three films distributed on the platform: To all the boys I’ve lovedpart 2 PS I still love youas well as part 3 Forever and ever. A total success which boosts the notoriety of the novelist.
As well as Prime Video, a year after the release of the third installment of To all the boys, is about to release the adaptation of a fiction by Jenny Han. And this time, the fiction does not become a film, but a series. The Summer I Became Pretty, from the trilogy of novels. The latter consists The Summer I Became Pretty, The summer I found you and The summer ahead of us.
A romance in the summer
Distributed on the Amazon platform, the series takes us to summerwhere it all begins for Isabel “Belly” Conklin. The Summer I Became Pretty follows the young girl who will know her first love. But also his first disappointments during this summer very different from the others. Directed by Gabrielle Stanton and Jenny Han, the drama series promises to be in line with the author’s novels. Romances unraveling, young people growing up and knowing their first stories… An atmosphere teenager which should appeal to a wide audience.
In the casting, we find Lola Tung playing Belly. During this summer that will change the girl’s life, Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno will accompany her. If the series works, it can be a huge stepping stone for their respective careers.
The Summer I Became Pretty will be released on June 17 on Prime Video.
