The bestseller “The Song of the Crayfish” conquered the German bookstores in 2019. Now, three years later, Delia Owens’ suspenseful novel has found its way into local cinemas. The best-selling film adaptation, directed by Olivia Newman, stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, who recently appeared in the Disney+ exclusive “Fresh’ caused quite a stir.
In the DashFUN review, “The Crayfish Song” received a good 3.5 stars and is known, among other things, for its painterly settings and its “good scenic balance of Love and Crime”. We would therefore recommend anyone interested to see it in the cinema. Although the theatrical release was only a few days ago, the film can already be pre-ordered on DVD and Blu-ray – and the expected release date has already been set: “The Song of the Crayfish” will probably be released in home cinemas on December 18, 2022, just in time before Christmas.

Director Olivia Newman remains true to her profession: Because next, she’s doing a miniseries for Apple TV+ based on the thriller novel “Protect Her” by suspense writer Laura Dave. Like the novel, the series is originally titled The Last Thing He Told Me. The story of an unusual stepmother-stepdaughter dynamic and the search for a man believed dead stars Jennifer Garner and Spider-Man: Far From Home supporting actress Angourie Rice. As with The Song of the Crayfish, Reese Witherspoon will serve as producer.
