It was during the DC FanDome event that James Gunn and his team led by John Cena unveiled the first trailer for Peacemaker. The supervillain hits HBO Max on January 13.
That’s it, after several days of teasing, HBO Max has finally unveiled the first trailer for Peacemaker, the serial spin-off of The Suicide Squad centered on the supervillain played by John Cena. And as one would expect, James Gunn – who wrote the 8 episodes and directed 5 of them – offers us with this series a concentrate of action and comedy, with a hint of emotion.
Featured by producers as “The Office among superheroes“, Peacemaker could have that unique and original tone that sets it apart from other DC productions on the small screen. We will have to wait at least January 13 to find out, the day when HBO Max will put season 1 online, although no channel or platform in France has purchased the broadcasting rights.
This first trailer allows us in the meantime to officially meet the other characters who will surround John Cena in his crazy adventures starting with Leota Adebayo, played by the brilliant Danielle Brooks (Taystee of Orange Is the New Black). A character specially created by James Gunn for the occasion. There will also be Adrian Chase / Vigilante, a costumed superhero played by Freddie Stroma, Robert Patrick who will play the father of the American patriot, but also John Economos (Steve Agee), Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) and Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji ).
A mini Suicide Squad that we can’t wait to see in action.
