Things were off to a bad start for him, but the Sonic Movie The Movie ultimately turned out to be a good surprise for Sonic fans and the family audience. With the film having found success in theaters just before the COVID-19 pandemic exploded, Paramount quickly set about building its sequel. And the latter begins to show itself a few months after its release.
Paramount has just released the first official French poster of Sonic 2, the Movie. This poster, available in our gallery below, clearly plays the fan service card. It shows the duo Sonic and Tails on board the latter’s plane. The two heroes are here pursued by Dr Robotnik, still played by Jim Carrey.

And that’s not all there is to be said about Sonic 2 the Movie. Paramount also revealed that the very first trailer for the film will air tonight. Obviously, the thing will be done during the Game Awards 2021. Jim Carrey and Ben Schwartz (the American voice of Sonic in the films) will also be on hand to present this video. FYI, the first trailer for Sonic 2 the Movie will air at 2 a.m. KST.
The American studio also recently announced that Tails will be dubbed into English by Colleen O’Shaughnessey. Which is good news for fans of the SEGA license. The actress is indeed the official voice of Tails since 2014. Both in video games and in animated series. It was also she who briefly played Tails in the post-credits scene of Sonic, the first film of the name.
Sonic 2, the film is not going to be long overdue
Sonic 2, the Film will be in French cinemas on April 6, 2022. Still directed by Jeff Fowler, it will star James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Idris Elba and Jim Carrey. The latter will play Tom, Sonic, Maddie, Tails, Knuckles and Dr. Robotnik respectively.
