It’s a tradition during the holiday season: movies and TV movies are coming to our screens. For this feature film, we find actors known from the small screen. First, the two main actors, Justin Hartley, who shone for 6 seasons in This is Us and Barrett Doss that we could see in Station 19a spin-off from Grey’s Anatomy. The rest of the cast of The Christmas Diary is completed by Essence Atkins, Bonnie Bedelia and James Remar.
As far as the story goes, Christmas movie fans shouldn’t expect a revolution. Indeed, the TV movie follows Jake Turner, a successful writer who returns home for the holidays to settle the estate affairs of a mother with whom he had a very cold relationship. While he cleans his childhood home, he discovers a diary that contains disturbing secrets, in particular that of a mysterious woman named Rachel with whom he will meet. Between the two characters, an unexpected connection will be established.
