When does this man actually sleep? Mike Flanagan has released at least one horror film or directed an entire horror series for Netflix every year for the past six years: After 2016’s ‘Still’, ‘Before I Wake’ and ‘Ouija: Origin of Evil’, ‘The Game’, Haunted Hill House”, “Doctor Sleeps Awakening”, “Haunted Bly Manor” and then in 2021 “Midnight Mass”. And Flanagan shows no signs of slowing down.
Because with “The Midnight Club” aka “Goosebumps at Midnight” he already has the next horror series for Netflix up his sleeve in 2022. The first trailer has now been released at the Netflix online event Geeked Week – and even if it doesn’t reveal much about the plot, it shows excellently that Flanagan simply has a knack for atmosphere and horror.
For us at DashFUN, “Haunted Hill House”, “Haunted Bly Manor” and “Midnight Mass” were among the best series – and the scariest horror experiences – of the respective year.
“The Midnight Club” or “Goosebumps at Midnight” is based on the book of the same name by Christopher Pike. Unlike Flanagan’s previous series, the focus is not on families, but on a group of young people who are all terminally ill and live together in an assisted living facility.

At midnight, the youngsters (five in the original book, apparently eight in the series) meet to tell each other spooky stories. One day they then make a pact: whichever of them dies first should try to contact the others from the afterlife…
“Goosebumps at midnight“ will be released on Netflix on October 7, 2022 – just in time for Halloween. Below we have the trailer in English for you:
