Switching between streaming services like Netflix, Disney+ or Amazon Prime Video is now even faster with the 3rd generation of the Fire TV Cube. But the improved processor is not the only innovation that Amazon has given its cube.
The new Fire TV Cube is priced at €159.99 and will be available from October 27th. You can pre-order the streaming cube now.

For film and series fans, the new Fire TV Cube is certainly the most interesting new Amazon product. The rounded edges and corners of the streaming cube stand out at first glance. There is now an additional HDMI input on the back, which you can use to connect your home cinema system or a Blu-ray player directly.
In addition, the Ethernet connection on the new Cube is installed directly on the device. So you no longer need an adapter. It was included in the scope of delivery of the predecessor, but it is much more relaxed not having to hide an annoying adapter behind the Cube.
If you prefer to use a WiFi connection for streaming, that’s no problem either. Then the new Fire TV Cube supports the current WLAN standard WiFi 6E. If you have the right router, you can do without an Ethernet cable.
The most important technical innovation is in the processor. Eight instead of six cores are now doing their work there and are said to deliver 20% more performance. This helps above all when navigating quickly through the menus and when processing voice commands.
Also new is the Super Resolution technology, which promises even better upscaling of Full HD content to 4K resolution. Even Netflix content can be extrapolated in Ultra HD. In theory, you don’t need a premium subscription to use the 4K offer.
