Brendan Fraser made an astonishing confidence in the talk show of Drew Barrymore. The actor has revealed that he never met Dwayne Johnson on the set of the blockbuster “The Mummy Returns”.
The Mummy Returns : the arrival of the Scorpion King
Two years after their meeting and the start of their love story, Egyptologist Evelyn Carnahan (Rachel Weisz) and adventurer Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser) return to the cinema in The Mummy Returns. Still directed by Stephen Sommers, this second opus released in 2001 takes place ten years after the confrontation against Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo).
Settled in London and now parents of young Alex (Freddie Boath), Evelyn and Rick must give up their peaceful existence when they learn that the dreaded Scorpion King (Dwayne Johnson), condemned to wander in limbo after betraying Anubis, is about to resurface to devastate the planet.

A sect led by the terrifying Lock-Nah (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) decides to resurrect the only being capable of killing him: Imhotep, whose mummy is kept in the British Museum. In order to avoid a catastrophe, the two heroes will have no choice but to get involved and can count on the help of Jonathan (John Hannah), as well as that of Ardeth Bay (Oded Fehr).
The late meeting between Dwayne Johnson and Brendan Fraser
Collecting over $443 million in worldwide revenue, The Mummy Returns achieves a better score than its predecessor (which had garnered nearly 416 million dollars) at the box office. The first appearance of the wrestler “The Rock” in the cinema is therefore a success.
A year later, the character played by Dwayne Johnson is even entitled to his spin off, The Scorpion King. Since then, the actor has established himself as one of the emblematic figures of the Hollywood landscape thanks to films like Fast & Furious 5, No Pain No Gain or Jumanji : Welcome to the Jungle.
The star of Black Adam recently expressed his support for Brendan Fraser, acclaimed for his performance in the drama The Whale by Darren Aronofsky. After the actor’s standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival, Dwayne Johnson said:
It makes me so happy to see this nice standing ovation for Brendan. He supported me in his frankness The Mummy for my very first role, which launched my career in Hollywood. I wish you success my brother and congratulations to my friend Darren Aronofsky.
A support that Brendan Fraser was unable to testify to Dwayne Johnson during filming of Return of the mummy, but after. Passing through Drew Barrymore’s talk show, the first explained that he had never met the second on the set of Stephen Sommers’ feature film. Asked about shooting while imagining future special effects, the interpreter of Rick O’Connell said:
I’m really good at it, and you know why? Because in The Mummy ReturnsDwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was just a piece of duct tape on a stick.
