“The Mitchells vs the Machines” and “Arcane” gave Netflix big victories at the Annie Awards!
The Annie Awards, distributed by the International Animated Film Association to the best animations of the year, were awarded the Netflix animation “The Mitchells vs the Machines”.” (“My Family Against Robots”).
“The Mitchells vs the Machines”, which also competed in the Best Animated Film category at the Oscars and was one of the prominent candidates in the category together with Disney’s “Encanto”, won the Annie awards for Best Film, Best Direction, Best Screenplay, Best Film. It received the Best Editing, Best Animation Effects, Best Character Design, and Best Production Design awards. The Best Voiceover award went to Abbie Jacobson, who voiced the film’s main character, Katie Mitchell.
Disney-made musical animation “Encanto” won the Best Storyboarding (Picture Sketch), Best Character Animation, and Best Music awards.
“Arcane” came to the fore in the awards in the television category. An animated series co-produced by Riot Games and Netflix, Best Direction, Best Storyboarding, Best Screenplay, Best Soundtrack, Best Animated Effects, Best Character Design, Best Character Animation, Best Production Design, and Best General Television. It received 9 awards in total, including Animation Production.
Netflix, which won 8 awards in the movie category and 9 awards in the television category, also won the Best Independent Animation Award “Flee” and the Best Character Design Award in a Live-Action Film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Legend”. Awarded to Ten Rings.
