Discover the first images of The Many Saints of Newark, prequel to the cult series The Sopranos. Release in theaters on November 3rd.
More than 14 years after the end of the Sopranos, The Many Saints of Newark takes us back to the world of the famous mafia family! This time, head for the 60s in this prequel featuring Dickie Moltisanti, father of Christopher, one of the heroes of the series.
Camped by Alessandro Nivola, Dickie will have to face a merciless war between the Italian and African-American community, in an ultra-tense climate of urban riots.
The first images announce a feature film with strong Scorsesian accents, all supported by the presence of the charismatic Ray Liotta, unforgettable hero of the Goodfellas. The actor, who almost played Tony Soprano before James Gandolfini took over the role, slips into the costume of Aldo “Hollywood Dick” Moltisanti, formidable godfather of the Mafia and father of Dickie.
We also find Michael Gandolfini in the role of teenage Tony Soprano. Who better than the son of the late James Gandolfini could lend his features to this cult figure? He is joined in the cast by Vera Farmiga, Jon Bernthal, Corey Stoll and Leslie Odom Jr. Note that the film is written by David Chase, creator of the Sopranos, and directed by Alan Taylor. Release scheduled for November 3 at the cinema.
