Fans have been calling for his return for years. And they are not alone. Comedian Samuel L. Jackson has expressed his desire to appear in “The Mandalorian” series. He even directly asked actress and filmmaker Bryce Dallas Howard if she could give him a little help…
Soon the return of Mace Windu?
With the recent series The Mandalorian and especially the appearance of Boba Fett, many fans began to speculate on Mace Windu’s return to the universe Star Wars. After all, Boba Fett still has a score to settle with the former purple lightsaber Jedi to avenge the death of his father Jango Fett. Played by Samuel L. Jackson, Mace Windu is a secondary but important character in the trilogy Star Wars by George Lucas. Even if he has little screen time, he has made a lasting impression on the minds and hearts of fans.
Mace Windu even appeared in the movie and the series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but fans are waiting for its big comeback in the live version. Yet the character is supposed to be dead. Mace Windu appears to have lost his life in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, killed by Palpatine (helped greatly by Anakin). The famous Jedi has his right hand cut off and is defenestrated from a building in Coruscant. Nevertheless, fans doubt his passing. And they may be right. After all, it is shown, whether in films or series, that it takes more than just a fall to kill a Jedi or a Sith. Darth Maul survived when he was in particularly bad shape in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Palpatine also came back to life after falling in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Inevitably, given the power of Mace Windu, there is a good chance that the character is still in the game.
Samuel L. Jackson wants to come back
In any case, if Mace Windu is still alive, there is a strong probability that the character will appear in one of the future seasons of The Mandalorian Where The Boba Fett Book. Anyway, the actor Samuel L. Jackson is more than up for returning to the Jedi robe. He who adores this character recently affirmed his desire to resume the purple lightsaber. When recording the podcast Happy Sad Confused the actor even revealed that he asked comedian and director Bryce Dallas Howard to integrate it into season 3 of The Mandalorian. Indeed, the latter has already produced several episodes of the show. The two artists recently shot a film together: Argylle, the next feature film by Matthew Vaughn. Here are the words of Samuel L. Jackson:
I keep hope for the return of Mace Windu, that’s for sure. There’s a thing about people who only have one hand and come back in Star Wars. The only person I talked to about coming back was Bryce Dallas Howard, because I just did a movie with her and she directed episodes of The Mandalorian. I asked him, ‘Do you think you could help a brother? I mean, you like me, don’t you?’ And she said, ‘I love you! You are amazing !’ So put me back in, I’m ready! I’ll learn to wield the lightsaber with my left hand, fix it for me.
A remark that obviously did not go unnoticed since Bryce Dallas Howard retweeted the excerpt from Samuel L. Jackson’s interview. Without saying if she was ready to support the actor for the return of Mace Windu… One thing is certain, this statement is likely to panic the fans!
