Even if it ends after Episode 8, there is good news: Amazon wants to produce a total of five seasons of “The Rings of Power” and the shooting of Season 2 even started in early October 2022. So it’s definitely going on.
But back to season 1 and the upcoming season finale: As after all previous episodes of “The Rings of Power” there is also a trailer for Episode 8 that should start automatically if you look at the end credits of Episode 7 for a few seconds. Otherwise you can also find the preview on the “Rings of Power” page on Prime Video under “Extras” and then “Bonus”. Attention, the trailer is currently still titled “Preview of Episode 7”, it’s simply the latest trailer with Celebrimbor on the picture.
If you look at the trailer, one thing quickly becomes clear: For the season finale, those responsible for the series around showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay have a lot planned, after all, not only do the most important storylines have to be completed, there are also some decent surprises waiting to us.
In any case, it seems clear: In episode 8 we will probably see the forging of the rings of power, or at least the beginning of it. The elves around King Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker) are increasingly desperate, we see the mithril chunk in the hands of Elrond (Robert Aramayo) and an explosion in the elven city of Eregion. And Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards), going back to episode 2, once again emphasizes that true creation requires sacrifice…
At the same time, the trailer also shows Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and Halbrand (Charlie Vickers) heading towards the Eregionwhere to be healed. And can it really be coincidence that Halbrand, which many believe to be Sauron-in-disguise, arrives in Eregion when the rings are forged there? After all, it is Sauron who gave the elves the idea of the rings in the first place…
Certainly the biggest excitement in the trailer, however, is the attitude of Nori (Markella Kavenagh), who suddenly has eerie eyes as well as the mysterious cowl figure, whose official name is Dweller (Bridie Sisson) and obviously has magical powers. Do we see some kind of magical duel? But don’t ask us how that fits together with the hitherto harmless harfoot girl – we’re currently not sure about that either…
