Amazon’s “Lord of the Rings” series is arguably one of the most anticipated events on the small screen of the coming months. The platform has just announced the release date and unveils a first official image.
The Lord of the Rings : Amazon is preparing heavy
No one can dare to say that the small screen does not box in the same category as the big one. If the feelings are different, the means and the ideas are equal on one side as on the other. We are in an era where crazy envelopes are used to create exceptional shows. Series The Lord of the Rings is a good example, with a budget of around $ 465 million just for the first season.
Compared to the Peter Jackson trilogy, the plot this time will take place long before. We will be invited to discover the Second Age of Middle-earth, roughly in the 3000’s before the films. A considerable difference, which will make it possible to explore other countries, to have a different story and to present a bunch of new characters. It will always be about Sauron in the background, and some heads known to the public will have the right to a return. For example, Galadriel will be in the game, this time with Morfydd Clark to play it (the role was played by Cate Blanchett in the cinema). We are still waiting for details on the plot to know what it will be about, but the most informed fans already have their little idea on the question.
Amazon is making the brave choice not to assemble a star-studded cast for the series and wants to propel lesser-known names. Thus, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Peter Mullan, Peter Tait or Cynthia Addai-Robinson will be in the cast.
See you in 2022
The production of season 1 has just ended and we finally know when the broadcast will begin: September 2, 2022. Which gives us another full year to wait. Knowing the scale of the production and the crazy wait around, we prefer that enough time is taken to obtain a result up to the task. In addition to the launch date, Amazon is pleased to unveil the first official image of the show. An absolutely magnificent preview, with a visual scale that is in line with what one would expect from the series The Lord of the Rings.
