The mail-order company and now also entertainment giant Amazon incorporated the traditional Hollywood studio MGM in mid-2021 and thus acquired the rights to several strong film and series brands such as “James Bond”, “Rocky” and “Vikings“ Secured. Of course, the takeover of the 007 license in particular caused a stir, but consumers have not yet had any significant effects from this deal. But that will soon change: From October 5, 2022, almost the entire James Bond series will be available as a subscription to Amazon Prime Video – but only for a limited time and German fans will have to do without the latest part of all things.

According to the Amazon press release, the streaming release of the entire 007 saga will take place in many important markets worldwide. But Germany of all places, along with Brazil and some African nations, is one of the few countries where a film is missing. The streaming rights for “No time to die” are currently still held by Sky in this country, which is why the 25th Bond film will continue to be shown on WOW for the first time.

In the case of the other 24 titles, Amazon hasn’t revealed what exactly “for a limited time” means either. The date on which the Bond saga will disappear from the Prime subscription is not yet known.
The celebrations don’t only include the release of the old films. With “The Sound Of 007”, a brand new documentary about the iconic Bond film music starts on October 5th. Stars like Daniel Craig, Billie Eilish and Hans Zimmer have their say. A recording of the accompanying concert show “The Sound Of 007: Live From The Royal Albert Hall” is also scheduled to appear on Amazon Prime Video on October 4th.
However, these two dates have not yet been explicitly announced for Germany, which is why we cannot be 100 percent sure that the documentary and the concert will also be available in this country. Since the release date is already very close, this will also be clarified in a few days at the latest.
