Zac Efron plays wrestler Kevin Von Erich in “The Iron Claw”, Sean Durkin’s new film currently in production. Despite the ravages of his physical preparation for “Baywatch: Baywatch”, the actor has again transformed for this project, displaying an impressive musculature.

Recently featured in Firestarter and The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Zac Efron is currently filming his next film. In this feature film titled The Iron Claw and directed by Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene, The Nest), the actor lends his features to wrestler Kevin Von Erich. His father Fritz Von Erich, played by Holt McCallany in the draft, won three world championship titles and was the owner of World Class Championship Wrestling.
The feature film will tell the story of this family of athletes, from the 1960s to today. Harris Dickinson and Jeremy Allen White play David and Kerry Von Erich, respectively, two of Kevin’s brothers. Lily James and Maura Tierney complete the cast of this project on the history of a clan marked by success but also by several suicides and an accidental death. Of the six Von Erich brothers, only Kevin is still alive today, aged 65.
The film’s original title, “La Claw de Fer” in French, refers to the clan’s iconic take of grabbing the opponent’s head to lift them up and knock them onto their backs. At the moment, there is no release date scheduled for The Iron Claw. the DailyMail on the other hand, revealed filming photos on which Zac Efron appears unrecognizable.
Oops!… He did it again
Last September, the actor spoke of the ravages of his physical preparation for Baywatch: Baywatch near Men’s Health. A transformation for which the actor is compelled to a drastic diet and countless sports sessions. An exhausting routine due to which he has suffered from insomnia and depression. Zac Efron said about it:
For all the reasons I thought it would be amazing, I was actually just miserable.
I no longer felt alive. I felt bogged down and slow.
Nevertheless, the star has visibly relaunched in a similar challenge for The Iron Claw. Transformed, Zac Efron displays an even more impressive musculature than that developed for Baywatch. A transformation that sticks to the physique of Kevin Von Erich, and which undoubtedly had to ask the actor to again adopt an iron discipline.
