If you haven’t heard of Fast & Furious Crossroads, you haven’t missed much, to be honest. The game went down in smoke, and its publisher announces that it will stop selling it.

Publisher Bandai Namco has just announced that Fast & Furious Crossroads will no longer be available for sale at the end of next month, less than two years after the title’s initial release. The news fell via an update to the official game website. The post tells us that the product will be permanently withdrawn from sale on April 29, 2022, at 4 a.m. French time.

Download still possible

However, those who purchased Fast & Furious: Crossroads before this date will not be harmed as the publisher specifies.

If you purchased the game digitally, it will still be in your library, and you can continue to download it. All DLC acquired before April 29, 2022 will also be usable after this date. Finally, the game’s online modes will also always be active.

The online mode will therefore be kept active, but for how long? It should be remembered that the initial promise was to offer a team robbery game that offers multiplayer, as well as a solo campaign in which we find the characters of Dom, Letty, and Roman. The latter was also quite poorly modeled after the faces of their respective actors, namely Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Tyrese Gibson.

Fast & Furious: the big crash

The game was developed (hard, very clearly) by the Slightly Mad studio (Project CARS), and the site was in progress when the entity was acquired by Codemasters in 2019. Codemasters which in turn was bought out by EA last year. Unfortunately, Fast & Furious: Crossroads was one of the biggest flops of 2020 with a Metacritic of 34% for its PC version. The title was also entitled to fourth place in the ranking of the worst games of the year.
