While season 8 of “The Flash” is currently airing in the United States, the CW has announced that a leading character from the first season will soon make his comeback.
Robbie Amell, who played the Arrowverse’s first Firestorm, will make his comeback in season 8 of The Flash, currently airing in the United States. For two episodes, he will thus slip once again into the skin of Ronnie Raymond, a character he played in the first season of the series.
According to Entertainment WeeklyRobbie Amell, who is currently starring in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, will make his first appearance in Episode 11 of Season 8. As of yet, no information has been released on the reasons and the circumstances of Firestorm’s return to The Flash.
Introduced in Season 1, Ronnie, who worked in STAR Labs alongside his fiancée, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), was missing when the particle accelerator exploded. While everyone believed him dead, the team at The Flash discovered that he had merged with Martin Stein (Victor Garber), creating the superhero Firestorm.
But the reunion between Ronnie and Caitlin was short-lived as he found death saving Central City at the end of season 1. Robbie Amell then quickly returned to the series on the occasion of episode 16 of the season. 3, “Lessons from the past”.
While his return is not yet to come (only 5 episodes of The Flash will air before the winter hiatus), the writers have already started planting the seeds for his future appearance. Caitlin thus mentioned the first name of her late husband during the first episode of season 8.
The all-new season 7 of The Flash is currently airing on SYFY. Seasons 1 to 6 are available on Netflix.
