Warner Bros has just made some changes to its movie release schedule. The firm has indeed just moved the release dates of several of its major upcoming productions, including the majority of its DC Comics films, namely “Shazam 2”, “Aquaman 2” and “The Flash”.
Change at Warner Bros.
As the Covid-19 pandemic seems to be slowly but surely waning, that does not prevent the studios from still moving some of their films. In any case, this is what Warner Bros has just done, which recently changed the release dates of several of its upcoming works. It is, in particular, the DC Comics productions that are impacted by these unexpected changes. The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, unfortunately, come to be pushed back to 2023while they were originally supposed to see the light of day in dark rooms in 2022. For Shazam: Fury of the Gods, it is the opposite effect. While it was supposed to be released in 2023, it has just been brought forward to 2022.
Focus on the new calendar
According to Deadline, these changes would be related to delays caused by the COVID-19 epidemic in recent years. Still, most of the movies that were moved seemed already well advanced. Warner had even shared the first teasers of The Flash and black adam. However, we will have to take our troubles patiently. Here is the new schedule:
- Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is pushed back from December 2022 to March 15, 2023.
- black adam is pushed back from July 2022 to October 19, 2022.
- Shazam: Fury of the Gods is advanced from summer 2023 to December 14, 2022.
- Krypto and the Super Animals is pushed back from May 2022 to July 27, 2022.
- The Flash is pushed back from November 2022 to June 21, 2023.
And that is not only for DC Comics movies. Indeed, other feature films are also affected by these changes. For example In Troubled Waters, 2 with Jason Statham is pushed back from April 2023 to August 2, 2023. While Wonka the prequel to Charlie and the chocolate factory worn by Timothée Chalamet sees its date modified from March 2023 to December 13, 2023. Thus, if Shazam 2 will arrive earlier in our theaters, the only good news of these changes, is for the rest, we will have to be more patient than expected… In the meantime, fans of the DC Comics universe can always console themselves with The Batmancurrently playing:
