The Flame: season 2 will be a parody of Koh-Lanta

The series “The Flame” with Jonathan Cohen will return for a second season, always inspired by what is done on TV. After being a parody of a dating show, this time she is going to make fun of Koh-Lanta.

The flame, an irresistible comedy series

We loved to make fun of him, his left side, his selfishness, his madness. Marc from The flame is a character who will have marked our television year 2020. This French series co-created by Jonathan Cohen, Jérémie Galan and Florent Bernard wanted to be a parody of the Bachelor, a famous show in which a single man had to choose the one of his heart among a small group of women. All together, they lived in the same house. And, in the end, there could only be one left. The flame succeeded with a certain brilliance in making fun of his role model, by offering crazy situations and characters who were just as crazy. Marc, played by Jonathan Cohen, was distinguished more by his stupidity than by his charm. In front of him, the suitors all had strong personality traits.

A season 2 to parody another cult show

If the series worked, it is largely thanks to his writing, but also thanks to his casting. We loved the phlegm of Vincent Dedienne, the few appearances of Pierre Niney, the hysteria of Leïla Bekhti or the performances of Doria Tillier, Céline Sallette, Ana Girardot, Geraldine Nakache, Florence Foresti, Laure Calamy and Adèle Exarchopoulos. A golden cast that set the bar high and season 2 of The flame should have so many beautiful names to highlight. Because, yes, a new burst of episodes is in the works. At the Canal + back-to-school conference, Jonathan Cohen made a small appearance to say more about what awaits us.

He notably revealed that the idea, this time, is to parody adventure shows. In France, the most famous is Koh-Lanta, which continues to massively gather viewers at each edition. The majority of the cast will be back, without knowing if the characters will change or not. Of course, recruits will come to bring something new. Filming will take place very soon in Mexico.. No release date has been released yet, but it’s reasonable to expect these episodes in 2022.
