The Marvel movie “The Eternals” was marked by a second, to say the least, mysterious post-credits scene. At the very end, a strange voice is heard. Director Chloé Zhao has revealed who owns this voice. Beware, SPOILERS!
On the program of the new Marvel
With The Eternals Marvel Studios introduces a new group of superheroes. Very powerful characters sent to Earth by the Celestials to protect humanity against the terrible Deviants. These, like the Eternals, are creations of the Celestials. Their confrontation will have lasted for millennia but the film takes place today, when new Deviants suddenly appear (see our review).
To achieve this new big production, Chloe Zhao has been engaged. The filmmaker had so far worked on independent films. But her approach was basically no different, as she explained to us in an interview. He still had to lead a great team and many actors since the Eternals are ten in the film. Among them are Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie.
A voice encrusted in The Eternals
During the promotion of the film, Chloé Zhao continued the interviews and was notably questioned by the site Fandom. The media took the opportunity to question her about the second post-credits scene. In this one, we see Dane Whitman, performed by Kit Harington, about to touch a strange sword. This sequence directly introduces the Black Knight, as we explained to you in our article. But at the very end of this passage, we hear a mysterious voice saying “Are you sure you are ready for this, Mr. Whitman? Some thought it was Doctor Strange’s voice. But according to Chloe Zhao, it would be another highly anticipated superhero. CAUTION SPOILERS !!!
Indeed, if she started by saying to Fandom that it wasone of his favorite superheroes, she ended up dropping her name: Blade! It was known that the character was finally going to be introduced in the MCU as Mahershala Ali. But we must admit that we did not expect this to be done from this film. Especially since Blade does not yet have a release date. Finally, we hope to see Dane Whitman again in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, scheduled for May 4, 2022. Which is not incompatible, obviously. But we are now very curious to see how all this will connect. Something to make fans even more impatient to discover the next Marvel movie afterwards The Eternals, which is currently in theaters.
