For over a decade “The Walking Dead’ is such an institution in the TV and streaming landscape that it was hard to imagine that the series would ever come to an end. So it was quite a surprise when it was said in September 2020 – and thus shortly before the end of the regular tenth season – that the newly confirmed eleventh season will also be the last. But they wanted to at least delay the difficult farewell by making the final season the longest in the history of the series.
A total of 24 episodes, which were divided into three parts with eight episodes each, should celebrate the end in a big way. But at some point even the longest season of the series comes to an end – so now also in this case. Today, October 3rd, 2022, the last part of the final season of “The Walking Dead’ (aka Season 11C) on Disney+.

Then we learn how the conflict between the survivors around Daryl (Norman Reedus) and the vast Commonwealth continues to escalate and culminate, and who ultimately survives the whole thing and who doesn’t (although the future “Walking Dead” plans already foreshadow a lot here , as you can read below).
Then the last “Walking Dead” episodes appear
The remaining eight episodes of the eleventh “Walking Dead” season are always published in Germany at weekly intervals on Monday mornings. The very last “Walking Dead” episode will be released in this country on November 21, 2022. But we will see some of the popular main characters again afterwards…
The main series is indeed coming to an end, but the end of the “Walking Dead” franchise is still a long way off. While the first spin-off Fear The Walking Dead” is still running (season 8 will start soon), several other spin-offs with some of the biggest fan favorites have already been announced. So it will be for Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) in “The Walking Dead: Dead City” in 2023 together in New York, while Daryl has to deal with the zombie pandemic in Europe in an as yet untitled series.
The big comeback of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), which was originally intended to take place in a cinema trilogy but will now take place in a six-part mini-series, which will also feature a reunion with Michonne (Danai Gurira), is particularly eagerly awaited. The former “Walking Dead” figurehead is also rumored to be returning before that for a guest appearance in the main series he once helped make. In a few weeks we will finally have certainty here…
