The demo was good in real time

Too good to be true? While some are still struggling to recover from the first in-game demo of Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2, some question its veracity.

Despite the plethora of announcements that punctuated the (very) long night of the Game Awards, many players will have been marked by the first gameplay sequence of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. Two years after enjoying the 2019 edition for s duly announced, Ninja Theory presented a first in-game sequence, with real pieces of Unreal Engine 5 in it.

Senua, raise your right hand and say “Ég sver”

It was without transition that the poor warrior Picte went from concentration to action, abandoning her experimental troubadours to attack a giant, and administer the most violent awakening. But because some voices have been raised to question the veracity of this impressive excerpt, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 audio director David Garcia has come in person to provide some answers:

Some explanations regarding our gameplay trailer:

– all 3D sounds use Project Acoustics and audio spatialization: two incredible technologies
– everything goes through the engine in real time, there is no cheating, this demo is very real. And as such, not everything is perfect yet
– I do not have the words to express the honor which is done to me to collaborate with the group Heilung by proposing my ideas of mixes, remodels, and to inject their soul into the world of Senua. They are very, very talented musicians

If music lovers will dwell with reason on the participation of the experimental folk group, others will be reassured by the graphic dimension of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. And for the most skeptical, know that our colleagues from Gaming Bolt could directly ask the same question to the same David Garcia, who assured that a developer of Ninja Theory had himself held the controller to record these six minutes of gameplay. Of which act.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is due out at an unknown date on PC and Xbox Series X | S.
