Do you have a weakness for dark revenge thrillers (“The Punisher”), Korean suspense cinema (“Squid Game”) and for Korean revenge thrillers (“Oldboy”) anyway? Then you should definitely have “Missing You – Mein ist die Rache” on your list – because after a full six years it’s finally making its way to Germany!
After the film was released in South Korean cinemas in spring 2016 and not only ran very successfully there, but was also nominated for several awards in its home country, local genre fans will soon be able to convince themselves of filmmaker Hong-Jin Mo’s directorial debut .
“Missing You” will be released for the very first time in Germany on August 26, 2022 – directly for home cinema. Exclusively on DashFUN, we can present you the German trailer for the revenge thriller today to get you in the mood – and if it convinces you, you can already secure the film for your home. For example as a strictly limited media book edition (DVD + Blu-ray) including exclusive cover artwork:

Hee-ju (Eun-Kyung Shim) was just seven years old when her father fell victim to an uncompromising cop killer. The serial killer, Ki-bum (Kimg Sung-oh), is caught shortly afterwards, but only sentenced for the murder of his girlfriend – and is free again after 15 years.
But Detective Dae-young (Je-mun Yun) takes up the pursuit shortly after his release in order to finally bring the murderer to justice. But that’s not all: Hee-ju, who has grown up in the meantime, has only one thing in mind: she wants to make the man who was responsible for her father’s death atone for it. But it doesn’t take long for another series of murders to break out…
While director Hong-jin Mo is still largely a blank slate, film fans with an affinity for Korea should have seen parts of the cast of “Missing You” somewhere before. For example, we just got Kim Sung-oh as an investigator on Netflix’s Money Heist: Korea, while Eun-Kyung Shim starred in both the zombie megahit Train To Busan and its prequel Seoul Station from the party. And fans of “Parasite” maker Bong-Joon Ho also know Je-mun Yun, of course, since he was a regular actor in front of the camera for the master director for many years (e.g. in “Mother”, “The Host” or “Okja”).
Also waiting for you in “Missing You” are Jae-hong Ahn (“Kingdom”), Won-Hae Kim (“Pirates – The Seal of the King”) and Hong-pa Kim (“The Tigers”).
