–Cinema journalist / Video games editorial manager

Nourished by VHS and genre films, Olivier Pallaruelo willingly abandons fiction to immerse himself in reality with documentaries and topical subjects. In love with physical media, he has also spent a lot of time in front of video games since his earliest childhood.

The horrific anthology “The Dark Pictures” continues! While the 3rd installment, “House of Ashes”, has just been released, the Supermassive Games studio will immerse players in the twists and turns of a famous serial killer with “The Devil in me”.

You have to beat the iron while it’s hot, and the development studio Supermassive Games understood that well. The third installment of his horror anthology just released, The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes (mentioned here), the editor Bandai Namco and the studio announces the next installment of the saga: The Devil in me.

The game, which should logically be available next year around the Halloween period, will feature a group of documentary filmmakers who have received a mysterious invitation to go to the “Murder Castle”, a recreation of the grim building of a very famous serial killer, HH Holmes.

Here is the announcement trailer …

Man with multiple identities (up to seven known), polygamist, nicknamed Doctor Torture or the Beast of Chicago, HH Holmes is often considered the first American serial killer.

Arrested by men from the Pinkerton Detective Agency after a run on November 17, 1894 in Boston, HH Holmes confessed to 27 murders and six attempted murders. But specialists estimate that he would have committed nearly 200, in his hotel in Chicago that he had opened for the Universal Exhibition of 1893.

It is there, in this real manor of Hell with a hundred rooms, that he reveled in the tortures he inflicted on his victims in certain secret rooms of his building, for which he himself had designed the plans. devilish. A building so vast, ultra modern and benefiting from the most recent innovations, installed not far from the famous slaughterhouses of Chicago, that it was baptized by the neighbors “the castle”. We had also returned for a long time to this sinister and fascinating figure in an article last July.

Saw the terrifying pedigree of this authentic character, The Dark Pictures: The Devil in me should promise a pretty chilling and bleeding experience …
