The famous interview given by Princess Diana to denounce the infidelities of Prince Charles will be present in the next season of “The Crown”, to be discovered in November 2022 on Netflix.
Both intimate and historical portrait of the British royal family, The Crown series retraces the most significant events experienced by the monarchy across the Channel in the twentieth century. After having explored the first three decades of reign of Queen Elizabeth II, the series will look for its fifth season on the supporters of the divorce between Prince Charles and his wife Lady Diana Spencer.
In 1995 on the BBC, Lady Di had not hesitated to publicly mention the infidelities of her husband, a shock interview which had precipitated her divorce with the future king of England. This interview also confirmed his status as persona non grata within the “Royal Family”, until his tragic death on August 31, 1997.
A sequence that will therefore be revisited in the next season of The Crown, as our colleagues from the tabloid affirm The Sun. Remember that Diana, previously played by Emma Corrin, will now be played by Elizabeth Debicki (Tenet). Prince Charles will be played by Dominic West (The Wire), while Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) will lend his features to Queen Elizabeth II.
