With her role in season 4 of “The Crown”, Emma Corrin has established herself as one of the new talents to watch closely. Recently unveiled, a deleted scene from the series shows the actress performing a song on the stage.
By lending her features to Diana Spencer in The Crown, Briton Emma Corrin has become a star. The success of the series and the power of its interpretation carried the young woman to the red carpet of the Golden Globes, in February 2021, where she received the award for best actress. Almost a year after its release, season 4 continues to be talked about. And for good reason, Netflix has just unveiled an unprecedented cut scene.
In this sequence, the princess watches a VHS in which she sings the title All I Ask of You, taken from the famous musical The Phantom of the Opera. This performance was a gift to celebrate her seventh wedding anniversary with Prince Charles. Unfortunately, all of Diana’s efforts could not prevent her union from falling apart, as evidenced by her melancholy gaze in the last shot.
The scene – which was certainly cut for timing reasons – appears briefly in the ninth episode of Season 4 when Charles (Josh O’Connor) receives the videotape before viewing it. Emma Corrin appears there in a sumptuous setting and reveals an impressive voice. It is also by performing this song in front of the producers of the program that the actress won her audition.
Emma Corrin will not be reprising her role as Diana for season 5, which is currently filming. To continue the tradition of changing performers over the ages, the creators have set their sights on Elizabeth Debicki. Emma Corrin will star in My Policeman with Harry Styles in 2022.
