After two seasons of “The Mandalorian”, the universe of bounty hunters will continue to be extended on Disney + with the spin-off “The Book of Boba Fett” which was teased last year. The series is revealed in a synopsis and announces its broadcast date.

The Book of Boba Fett : launch planned for the end of the year

The very good second season of The Mandalorian ended on an excellent note with an ending that pleased fans thanks to the intervention of a cult figure. Another head known to the universe appeared earlier: Boba Fett. The famous bounty hunter is giving himself a second youth on the small screen and will even be entitled to preferential treatment with a series which will be entirely dedicated to him. The Book of Boba Fett will also arrive well before season 3 of The Mandalorian.

Filming has been going on for a while and he figured it was the next Star Wars-stamped live series to land on the streaming platform. Disney has just announced that the launch of the broadcast will be on December 29th. A great gift for the end of the year celebrations. In theory, it will then be the turn ofAndor to land in 2022.

A synopsis for the new Star Wars series

In addition to this release date, Disney took the opportunity to reveal an official synopsis, which says a little bit more about the story:

The Book of Boba Fett lingers on bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand, navigating the underworld of the Galaxy, when they return to the sands of Tatooine to claim their territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

We had rightly understood that the series was going to happen after the decline of Jabba, given that the post-credits scene of season 2 of The Mandalorian just showed Boba and Fennec taking over the famous villain’s lair. Which resulted in this iconic shot in which the bounty hunter took his seat on the throne, with his right arm by his side.

It remains to be seen, now, if Jabba will be in the game and what the scenario will talk about more precisely. We understood that the plot would, a priori, take place largely on the famous planet Tatooine. Who says extended universe, necessarily says that we will certainly see connections with the films, but also with the series. The appointment is therefore made in December and, before that, we should see pictures during the Disney + Day event scheduled for November.
