The opening ceremony of the 5th International Festival of Women Directors was held in İzmir.
The opening ceremony of the Women Directors Festival, organized by the Women Directors Association for the 5th time this year, was held last night. Many directors, academics, and many guests attended the ceremony, which was held at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center with the support of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
In the night, which started with the opening concert of the Festival Director and Member of the Women Directors Association, Gülten Taranç and her orchestra; İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, who always puts women first and cares about culture and art, reiterated the value he attaches to the festival by connecting to the opening of the festival from Florence. Neptün Soyer, on the other hand, did not neglect to mention the value she places on women and artists while talking about the content of the festival in her opening speech.
At the opening ceremony, One of the academicians of Yaşar University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema. Dr. Instructor Member Burcu Dabak was presented with the Academy Achievement Award, while Iranian director Nergis Abyar received the Director Achievement Award.
Within the scope of the festival, 98 films from 28 countries will be screened. The 5th International Women’s Directors Festival will take place between February 27 and March 8 in Izmir and all over Turkey online.
The competition films of the festival, which will host the international premieres of 46 films and the Turkish premieres of 62 films, will meet with the audience at the Institut français de Turquie between 28 February and 5 March. Many films are in the selection of the festival, where the directors will participate in the online and physical question and answer event.
