There’s been a lot of talk about pain hustlers in Hollywood for a while now. Because it’s not just one of the rare cases in which David Yates, after four “Harry Potter”- and three “Fantastic Beasts” films outside of the magical fantasy franchise and already has a big star on board with Emily Blunt, Netflix has also secured the thriller to a great deal of attention. As part of the film rights market, which traditionally takes place on the fringes of the Cannes Film Festival, the streaming giant paid a sum of around 50 million dollars, according to industry reports, in order to be able to distribute the film exclusively worldwide. It was the highest sum paid for a title at the 2022 film market.
And now the project gets even more interesting. Because even if there is no official confirmation from Netflix, reports Variety Now that Chris Evans is firmly aboard the thriller-satire that aims to evoke films like The Wolf Of Wall Street, The Big Short, and American Hustle. This is the first time Chris Evans and Emily Blunt have worked together.

Coming together for Netflix for the first time: “Captain America” Chris Evans and “Almost Black Widow” Emily Blunt.
It was once the plan that they would become the Marvel dream duo as Captain America and Black Widow. Blunt was the comic giant’s first choice for the role of the hard-hitting heroine. But she had to pull out because a contract commitment with Fox allowed the (then-rival) studio to take her on board for any film. This compelled her to film Gulliver’s Travels, although she would have preferred to take the Marvel offer.

The role of Black Widow went to Scarlett Johansson, who was first introduced in “Iron Man 2”, but then mainly in “The Return Of The First Avenger” and “Civil War” to become the confidante and collaborator of Chris Evans’ Captain America became what was actually planned for Blunt.
At the heart of “Pain Hustlers‘ is Liza Drake, played by Emily Blunt, who dropped out of high school, now works odd jobs and is looking for a better life for herself and her daughter. When she finds a job at a pharmaceutical start-up that is actually failing, she manages to change the fortunes of the company for the better. But in doing so, she ends up in the middle of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences.
It is not yet known what role Chris Evans will play when filming is scheduled to begin this summer. What is certain, however, is that we see the Marvel star much earlier on Netflix. Because he embodies in the action thriller “The Gray Man” the “Avengers 4” directors have a leading role. “The Gray Man’ will be in theaters on July 14, 2022 and then available on Netflix on July 22, 2022.
