The Paramount + platform has formalized the order for a sequel to “Teen Wolf” which will take the form of a film. This feature film, scheduled for 2022, will be written by Jeff Davis and should see some of the heroes of the series return, including Tyler Posey.
The Beacon Hills werewolves haven’t said their last word. Four years to the day after the end of the series on MTV in the United States, the American streaming platform Paramount + today formalized the return of Teen Wolf in 2022 … in film form!
This feature film, which will be written and produced by Jeff Davis, the creator of the series, will indeed be a continuation of the adventures of Scott McCall and his pack, and not a reboot (as is the fashion at the moment. with new versions of Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars).
Variety, who revealed the information before a teaser was posted on social media, explains that discussions are currently underway between MTV Entertainment Studios, Paramount +, and the comedians of the series, in the hope of seeing a much of the original cast return for this Teen Wolf movie event.
According to the synopsis released by Variety, this sequel in the form of a feature film by Teen Wolf will see a new threat hovering over Beacon Hills. To confront this evil force, the werewolves of the city will have to call upon all the creatures of the night, from the Banshees to the Kitsunes, including the Hounds of Hell.
And, unsurprisingly, only a leader like Scott McCall, who is no longer a teenager but remains more than ever an Alpha, has the ability to bring together new allies and old trusted friends to come to grips with what might be. well be the most powerful and dangerous enemy ever encountered in the history of the series.
Although rather vague, this pitch strongly suggests that Tyler Posey will return to service as Scott McCall, although nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet. The order of a movie Teen Wolf explains in any case why the actor, seen since in Truth or Dare or Now Apocalypse, shared for several days on Instagram photos of the six seasons of the series of which he was the hero from 2011 to 2017 .
In parallel with the writing of this feature film which will follow the 100 episodes of Teen Wolf, Jeff Davis, who has signed a new contract with MTV Entertainment Studios, will also oversee two other projects.
The screenwriter and producer, to whom we also owe Criminal Minds, will indeed develop a series entitled Wolf Pack based on the eponymous novels of Edo Van Belkom – a drama which will once again have for them werewolves but isn’t imagined as a Teen Wolf spin-off – and will pilot the live-action adaptation of Æon Flux, which he will also serve as showrunner on and which will eventually air on Paramount +, after to have been initiated on the side of MTV.
