Under the terms of the agreement, Goldstein, who is writer and co-producer on “Ted Lasso,” will develop, create and produce content for all platforms, including potential projects for WarnerMedia’s HBO Max and other streaming services.
Goldstein won an Emmy for supporting actor in a comedy for his performance in the first season of “Ted Lasso.” He is currently nominated for the 2022 Writers Guild Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, and Critics’ Choice Awards for his work on the second season of the hit series. Production of the third season of “Ted Lasso” will begin soon.
In addition to his work on “Ted Lasso,” Brett Goldstein was the co-creator of the AMC anthology “Soulmates,” renewed for a second season ahead of its August 2020 premiere, and is writing and executive producing the upcoming Apple TV Plus comedy “Shrinking.” WBTV is taking over the project, with Bill Lawrence as the producer, and Jason Segel as the lead role. Goldstein also hosts the podcast “Films To Be Buried With,” which was nominated for an iHeartRadio Award.
“I’m very much like the character Joe Gillis on Sunset Blvd, I’ve always dreamed of having my own parking space at Warners, and it’s amazing to see that dream come true. I hope the comparison ends here and I don’t die in a pool by some crazy old movie star. I’m thrilled and honored to embark on exciting new adventures with the wonderful brothers at Warners.” said.
