The sixth episode of the third season “The Boys” is finally here, and with it the heavily advertised “Herogasm” episode that has been teased for a long time. However, before we see the big supe orgy, the episode begins with a video in which, in addition to the “The Boys“-characters The Deep (Chace Crawford), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) also feature some stars that we also know from our world: Patton Oswalt, Josh Gad, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, Elizabeth Banks, Kumail Nanjiani, Aisha Tyler and Rose Byrne.
Most of the “The Boys” fans probably already thought. But not everyone might remember the video being parodied here — or might even have missed the whole thing at the time.
At the beginning of March 2022, shortly after the corona pandemic had really started and the whole world was in lockdown, “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot had the idea of cheering up her fellow human beings with a video in which she and other stars sing “Imagine” by John Lennon.
The video features actors and actresses like Crisis Wiig, Jamie Dornan, James Marsden, Natalie Portman, Zoe Kravitz, Amy Adams, Will Ferrell, Pedro Pascal and Mark Ruffalo.
However, the “Imagine” video caused mixed reactions. Many complained because it seemed mendacious and wrongthat rich superstars showed up in their mansions while hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives, homes and jobs and found themselves in far less comfortable quarantine conditions.
Gadot himself has now described her action in interviews as “poorly timed” and “tasteless”, even if there were good intentions behind it.
And that’s exactly what we’re doing now “The Boys” fun, when The Deep says something about how the supervillain attacks came as a “shock to all of us, no matter who we are, no matter where we’re from.” After all, as a supe he is far less vulnerable than people without superpowers – and just like Homelander (Antony Starr) has done nothing against Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), who is behind the “attacks”.
“The BoysEpisode 3.7 will then start on July 1, 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.
