Thunderbolt, the next Superman movie will not be Man of Steel 2 and will be done without Henry Cavill. We already have some information on the next adaptation, here is what we know.
As for The Witcher Netflix, the news had the effect of an earthquake. Henry Cavill will no longer be Geralt or Superman. If a certain Man of Steel 2 was indeed in discussion, the direction of the DCU has since changed. James Gunn and Peter Safran finally have other projects for the hero from Krypton and we know a little more about it.
A new Superman movie by James Gunn
The new DCU will ultimately be without Henry Cavill. The rumor had set fire to the Internet at the beginning of the week, it is now recorded. The much-loved actor in the geek sphere announced the news himself on his Instagram account. James Gunn, new thinking head of the DC cinematic universe, has in the process confirmed his statements of the old. However, Superman remains a top priority. The red-cloaked hero will indeed return in a new movie, currently being written by Gunn himself, but not necessarily directing it.
Peter and I have a slate of DC projects ready, and we couldn’t be more excited. We will be able to share exciting information about our first projects early next year. Among them is Superman. At first, our story will focus on an earlier part of Superman’s life, so the character cannot be played by Henry Cavill.
In other words, the next Superman movie will feature a younger Clark Kent. On the other hand it will not be a story about the origins of the hero so do not expect an adaptation in the vein of Smallville. The Black Superman movie is also still in development. It will be directed by JJ Abrams with Ta-Nehisi Coates writing (Black Panther).
