King of French comedy since his huge success with “Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis”, Dany Boon returned to the fore in 2014 with his new film entitled “Supercondriaque”. A film in which the actor-director shares some similarities with the protagonist he plays.
Supercondriac : Kad and Boon meet again
Fourth feature film directed by Dany Boon, Supercondriac marks the reunion between the comedian and Kad Merad. Indeed, the duo had made the whole of France laugh with Welcome to the Ch’tis, released in 2008.
The 2014 feature film follows Romain Faubert is a 40-year-old bachelor who works as a photographer for an online medical dictionary. However, this profession caused him a real paranoia about illnesses. Clear : Romain is a hypochondriac. His only friend is his attending physician, Dr Dimitri Zvenska, who is starting to get more than enough of his repeated seizures. To get rid of him, he then makes sure that his friend can find the woman of his life. A very difficult task, given Romain’s behavior.
The film will achieve a nice commercial success in France with 5.2 million admissions (third place at the box office 2014). It will also experience a comic book adaptation.
Dany Boon’s phobias
Yes Supercondriac is a film which multiplies the excesses around the phenomenon of hypochondria, the approach is voluntary since Dany Boon makes self-derision. Indeed, to a lesser extent, the actor also has all kinds of obsessive fears.
