From the height of his 20 years, the actor Sayyid El Alami carries on his shoulders the plot of the detective series “A so long night” broadcast on TF1. Alongside Mathilde Seigner and Jean-Pierre Darroussin, he now stands out as one of the young talents to follow very closely.
such a long night : Sayyid El Alami embodies the young Sami
TF1 is currently broadcasting the series such a long night, which is inspired by the British series Criminal Justice and its American adaptation broadcast on HBO under the title The Night Of. The first role of the made in France version is attributed to Sayyid El Alami. In this thrilling thriller, we follow young Sami, a student from Marseille, apparently without problems, who suddenly finds himself accused of the terrible murder of a young girl, after having spent the night with her, under the influence of drugs.
This young man with the face of an angel and curly hair is highlighted by Jérémy Minui’s camera. Mathilde Seigner embodies Sami’s lawyer, she will do everything to get him out of prison, Jean-Pierre Darroussin meanwhile, plays a cop convinced of the guilt of the young man. Surrounded by these seasoned actors, Sayyid El Alami embodies a complex, very sensitive, and ambiguous character. Indeed, throughout this plot, viewers constantly wonder about the guilt of the young man.
A young talent in the making
The actor is not at his first attempt. Since he was 13, he has been trying his luck and going to castings. The work pays off, since the young boy does not go unnoticed. Going up to Paris, he quickly landed roles in short films, notably in bass, selected at the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes in 2018. Later, he is spotted for the Netflix event series Messiah. A big project for the young man, who remembered these good memories in the columns of the Parisian :
At 18, I found myself in an incredible international machine. The French casting director said I didn’t match. This allowed me not to agree with him and to show my determination. On the first day of shooting, I was in a panic. The two directors said to me: “We trust you and trust yourself”.
Currently showing at such a long night on TF1, already available on the Salto platform, Sayyid continues its momentum and will soon be in an episode of the Canal+ series Narvalo: new galleys. He will also be featured in series Oussekine on Disney+. The actor will play Malik Oussekine, a student killed by three police officers in 1986.
Cinema enthusiast
The young actor thus continues his merry way. He also reveals that, from an early age, he is lulled by the great successes of cinema. Sayyid El Alami is therefore pursuing his dream, and is already well aware that he will come out of anonymity after all these broadcasts.
I know that in this business, nothing is fixed. You can have a Caesar one day and nothing after. Me, I especially want to work, to tell stories on the screen, to write… I hope to realize this dream to realize those of others, to help them, to make my mother travel.

His involvement in the work and his lucidity will surely help him to evolve in this profession. To be continued…
