Keith Thomas sits in the director’s chair of the film, which is adapted from the novel “Firestarter” by Stephen King, translated as “Response” into our language.

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have shared the first trailer for “Firestarter,” based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name. Published in Turkey under the title “Tepki”, the book tells the story of a little girl who can ignite objects and control fire with her power of thought.
Stephen King’s novel was adapted into a movie in 1984. Drew Barrymore played the pyrokinetic little girl in the movie directed by Mark L. Lester.
The script of the movie was written by Scott Teems, who also wrote the screenplay for Halloween Kills. Keith Thomas is directing. Thomas previously directed the horror movie The Vigil in 2019.
In the movie, Charlie McGee, the little girl who can start a fire with her mind, is played by Ryan Kiera Armstrong, who has appeared in productions such as Black Widow and American Horror Story. The cast also includes names such as Zac Efron, Gloria Reuben, Sydney Lemmon, Michael Greyeyes, Tina Jung.
The plot of “Firestarter” is briefly as follows: After being experimented with by a secret government agency called “The Shop”, Andy McGee develops some psychic powers and meets the love of his life. The couple has a daughter, Andy, who has psychic powers and can burn objects with her mind, but their daughter is kidnapped by a secret government organization that wants to use her power as a weapon…
“Firestarter” will hit theaters on May 13, 2022.
