The first subtitled trailer for the movie “Laal Singh Chadha”, the Indian adaptation of the movie “Forrest Gump” starring Tom Hanks and directed by Robert Zemeckis, has been released. Aamir Khan, one of the most important names of Indian cinema, takes the lead role of the movie.
1994’s “Forrest Gump” won a total of 6 Oscars, including Best Director, Best Actor and Best Picture, and Forrest Gump’s character was remembered as one of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema.
About the extraordinary life of an ordinary man, “Laal Singh Chaddha” will retell Forrest Gump’s story through the eyes of India’s modern history and culture. Bringing together Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the film promises the audience a lively story that offers emotion, humor and optimism.
Built on the unique bond between Laal and her single mother, and featuring a childhood hardened by strong values, the story focuses on the love, innocence and destiny of Laal, who has overcome life’s many challenges. While she wins the hearts of the people she meets along the way, she reminds us that everyone, even the most improbable, has a story.
Filmed in more than 100 locations around India, the film was produced by Viacom 18 Studios, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao in collaboration with Paramount Pictures. “Laal Singh Chaddha” will be released worldwide on August 11th.
