Matt Damon, Camille Cottin and director Tom McCarthy return to “Stillwater”. And in particular the filming in Marseille, the main character or, in the case of the French actress, the fact of playing in English.
An American … in Marseille! This is the starting point of Stillwater, a thriller premiered in Cannes and Deauville. Vaguely inspired by the Amanda Knox affair, the feature film features a man who goes to Marseille to try to exonerate his daughter, put in prison for a crime she swears not to have committed.
The American in question is Matt Damon who, with director Tom McCarthy (Spotlight), shot in Marseille, which he describes as “one of the most beautiful cities in the world”. Alongside his director, the actor discusses the shots, his role but also his partner Camille Cottin.
While waiting to illustrate herself in front of Adam Driver and Lady Gaga in House of Gucci by Ridley Scott, on November 24 in our theaters, the actress returns to her character and the fact of playing in English in this film which manages to avoid clichés that we find too often when Americans stage France.
