Chris Pontius and Steve-O, legendary members of the “Jackass” odyssey, return in “Jackass Forever” and once again give of their person to make us laugh and scare us. We were able to ask them several questions, but these two had only one answer that was important to them…
Meeting with Chris Pontius and Steve-O
Jackass Forever, available on VOD since April 6, 2022, marks the comeback of Hollywood’s craziest actors and stuntmen. Their twisted, violent humor, joyfully and fraternally turning into sadomasochism, has accompanied an entire generation since the show was created for MTV in 2000.
We had the chance to ask them a few questions about two of the pillars of the team Jackass, Chris Pontius and Steve-O. Our questions were diverse, but they mostly wanted to talk about one thing in particular… (video at the top of the article)
Twenty years after the first film Jackass, the public finds you with excitement, emotion, apprehension too. For your part, how did you feel when you all got together to Jackass Forever?
Steve-O: I’ll let Chris answer, but for me, it’s been way too long since I’ve seen his penis!
Chris Pontius: for me, it’s been far too long since I’ve shown it to you. And more broadly, that I had not shown it to the world! Seriously, we all got together to shoot tests, to see if the chemistry was still there. But I knew she would always be there, and everyone arrived full of energy. We quickly knew we were going to make a great film.
What is for you, Steve-O, your favorite sketch of Jackass Forever?
Steve-O: It’s when you see Chris’ penis. It’s always been my favorite.
I like the whole movie. But his penis is the star of the movie, he’s my favorite actor, he’s really a phenomenon. He set records, set trends, and is defining the future of all media.
Chris Pontius: You know Steve, I didn’t have the opportunity to tell you at the time, because I couldn’t be there when you shot with bees, as I’m allergic to it, but your penis seems also very strong, and proud.
Steve-O: Thank you, thank you, my penis is a good supporting role, and I think it could receive an Oscar nomination for best second penis. Chris and I have been saying it for years: men have been hiding their penises for a long time as if we should be ashamed of it. But those times are over now.
We understand that Jackass is a penis story, but it’s also a unique friendship story.
Steve-O: We are a family, we have too many memories. We have created an unbreakable bond, and it is brilliant to have that. We have something special between us, and the fact that we still find each other, although we have aged well, and that we still manage to amuse the public with our stuff in Jackass Foreverit’s the testimony that we have this special thing between us.
Chris Pontius: We’re stuck together, for the best! When Jackass was just a TV series, we took it day by day, we didn’t think we were going to make a movie and then we made one, and it became a career. We have become a family, we argue like a family, it is very rare and precious to have this bond in a group. And I’m very happy that we’re doing something about it and showing it to the world. And it would be a shame to stop.
