The Hollywood Reporter just revealed a few things about one of the upcoming movies Star Wars. This is a production in development under the direction of Damon Lindelof, the creator of the “Watchmen” and “Lost” series.
Damon Lindelof is currently developing a new film Star Wars
This weekend of September 22, 2022, Disney and LucasFilm revealed that Damon Lindelof is currently working on a new movie Star Wars. The project has been in the works for a few months now and has remained quite discreet until now, but this new production Star Wars has finally been talked about.

Currently, series creator Lost, The Leftovers and watch men is therefore working on writing the script for this new adventure in a galaxy far, far away. According The Hollywood Reporterhe would be supported by Justin Britt-Gibson, a young screenwriter who has already distinguished himself on the series The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and on some episodes of Counterpart.
This weekend, the American media also reported that the director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, who directed two episodes of the series Miss Marvel, was also attached to the project, possibly as a director. It is also rumored that Dave Filoni, the kingpin of the universe Star Wars on Disney+, would also be involved in the creative process of this new film.
A plot located after the postlogy
Always according to The Hollywood Reporterthis new film would be thought of as a standalone project. Obviously, no new trilogy on the horizon. A plan which goes a priori against the creative process of Disney in recent years which capitalizes on series and new sagas. Media sources claim that this new film will be set after the events of Star Wars : The Rise of Skywalker, the last part of the postlogy. However, the work will not be a sequel to the trilogy initiated by JJ Abrams in 2015. Although some characters from these three movies could return in the creation of Damon Lindelof.
In addition to the television series currently abounding on Disney+ (The Mandalorian, The Boba Fett Book, Andor, The Bad Batch, Obi-Wan Kenobietc…), other cinematographic projects are planned around the universe Star Wars. Patty Jenkins is still working on her film Rogue Squadron (but currently the film is out of schedule and no longer has a release date). Kevin Feige and Michael Waldron are developing a movie Star Wars (no news for the moment), while Taika Waititi has also been at the helm of his own feature film for two years now (visibly on stand-by). As for Rian Johnson’s trilogy, we don’t know if it is still relevant.
Thus, Damon Lindelof’s project is added to this long list of projects Star Warsnone of which seems to be, for the moment, a safe bet…
