To everyone’s surprise, the Quantic Dream studio has announced the development of the “Star Wars Eclipse” video game. A superb trailer has been unveiled and promises a grandiose work!
Star Wars Eclipse, a great game to come
The universe of Star wars did not settle for movies or series. Very quickly, the franchise developed on other mediums, includinge video game. And this, from the end of the 1970s. Among the outstanding titles, we think of Jedi knight, the excellent series of KOTOR, the Battlefront, direct adaptations of films, or more recently Fallen Order. Soon, a new game should drive fans of the saga crazy: Star Wars Eclipse.
It was during the Game Awards 2021 ceremony that the Quantic Dream studio (to whom we owe Heavy rain, Beyond two souls or Detroit Become Human) unveiled the first images of the game. Almost three minutes long trailer and visually stunning. The video contains everything we love about the world of Star wars. Featuring charismatic characters, space and lightsaber combat, and a dark and ominous foe revealing themselves. We obviously notice the presence of Yoda and the Trade Federation.
At the moment, not much is known about the history of Star Wars Eclipse, except that it will take place during the era of the High Republic and in an unexplored region of the Outer Rim. On the gameplay side, the game site indicates that it will be an action-adventure game with multiple characters and a multi-branching storytelling.
A connection with The Acolyte ?
As said before, the video game Star Wars Eclipse will therefore take place during the era of the High Republic. It is also during this period that must take place The Acolyte series. Specifically, it should take place around 200 years before the events of The Phantom Menace. It’s unclear whether the game and the series will take place at exactly the same time. But a connection between the two mediums seems quite likely. For any confirmation, it will still be necessary to wait. The series will be to discover in 2023 on Disney +, and video games on their side no release date.
