A central character from the animated series “Star Wars: Rebels” will appear in a live action version in the series “Ahsoka Tano” commissioned by Disney +.
More than ever, the animated series occupy a central place in the development of Star Wars mythology. After Ahsoka Tano, the heroine of The Clone Wars who appeared in The Mandalorian in the guise of Rosario Dawson, it is another character – this time taken from Rebels – who will make her debut in live-action in a series Star Wars.
Sabine Wren will indeed be played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society) in the Star Wars: Ahsoka series, centered on the adventures of the former padawan of Anakin Skywalker. Recall that in Rebels, it is the actress Tiya Sircar (The Good Place) who lent him her voice.
Originally from the planet Krownest, the young woman was brought up according to Mandalorian custom. Following the colonization of Mandalore by the Galactic Empire, Sabine served the Imperial Army before leaving her family to become a bounty hunter. She then joined the Ghost crew by leading missions on behalf of the rebellion. Holder of the darksaber, she had bequeathed the weapon to the Mandalorian Bo-Katan (also appeared in The Mandalorian).
Ahsoka is one of several Star Wars series in development on Disney +; remember that the platform will broadcast The Book of Boba Fett next December, while the series Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor (prequel to Rogue One) or the third season of The Mandalorian.
