After its surprise and dazzling success, Netflix has renewed Squid Game for a second season, but a season 3 is already being considered by the leaders of Los Gatos.
Good news for Squid Game fans! The South Korean series that became a global phenomenon from its launch will return not only with season 2 but also probably with a season 3, according to The Korea Times.
“I am in talks with Netflix for season 2 as well as season 3creator Hwang Dong-hyuk said in an interview with Korean broadcaster KBS.We will soon come to a conclusion.“This is the first time the creator has hinted at the possibility of a third season after Season 2 was confirmed last month.
Nothing surprising in this announcement since since its release on September 17, Squid Game has conquered the whole world, reaching the first places of the famous top 10 in more than 90 countries where the streaming service is available. It thus became the most watched Netflix series of all time, with a total of 1.65 billion hours seen in the first four weeks of release.
These record numbers have enabled the series to win a number of awards and nominations. Squid Game thus became the first Korean-language series nominated for the Gotham Awards and the Golden Globes.
