Referring to the upcoming season of “Squid Game”, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk drew a parallel between his Korean series and the Star Wars saga.
Since he himself announced the upcoming release of a second season of Squid Game, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has given several interviews to discuss the sequel to the South Korean phenomenon series, which a few weeks ago became the most watched series when it launched on Netflix!
In an interview with our colleagues fromEntertainment Weekly, the South Korean screenwriter spoke of the rest of his series, drawing a surprising parallel with the Star Wars saga concerning the path that the main protagonist Gi-hun could take in this second season.
The experience gained with the games of the first season will be even more useful to him. As for the masked man who is a former winner turned henchman, he can be seen as Darth Vader. Some characters become Jedi and some become Darth Vader. Gi-hun will surely reach a tipping point where he too will be put to the test.
Will a passage to the dark side divert the brave Gi-hun from the right path? Are we to guess that the big boss of this mysterious organization will be some sort of Emperor Palpatine? Still, the second season of Squid Game – expected for 2023 on Netflix, at best – is already the subject of immense expectations among subscribers of the platform.
