On June 17, 2022, Netflix will unveil the psychological and futuristic thriller tinged with dark humor “Spiderhead”. The opportunity for director Joseph Kosinski to escape from the blockbuster genre, and the opportunity for Chris Hemsworth to show something other than his great physical qualities, as this first trailer shows.
2022, a busy year for Joseph Kosinski
While he will present very soon at the Cannes Film Festival Top Gun : Maverick, director Joseph Kosinski is also in the news on the Netflix platform. Indeed, June 17 will be available Spiderhead, psychological thriller in a new kind of penitentiary, where “social” experiments are carried out on inmates. A film that promises to venture into several genres, but always in the “clear line” and orderly style of its director.
The casting has the mouth: Chris Hemsworth in the role of the director of this penitentiary not like the others, Steve Abnesti, and Miles Teller in prisoner-guinea pig of choice, Jeff. They provide the leading roles, and are surrounded in particular by Jurnee Smollett, Tess Haubrich and Bebe Bettencourt.
A catchy trailer with a taste of cynical comedy
The setting is futuristic, and in these first images we immediately notice that Chris Hemsworth shines with an attitude that is both relaxed and threatening. We are far from the series oza little closer to the atmosphere of The Islandand the trailer (at the top of the article) remains enigmatic enough to make us want to know more. If there seems to be loud laughter, there is also violence, and it is easy to imagine that this experimental installation called Spiderhead will know monumental failures.
A lot of expectations therefore for this film which promises to be amazing, if only for Chris Hemsworth’s score. Indeed, this is clearly the bad guy of Spiderhead, cynical, charming and manipulative at will. As for Miles Teller, also on the front line of Top Gun : Maverick, his collaboration with Joseph Kosinski seems to be successful. In fact, he was already line of fire, the third feature film by Joseph Kosinski. See you on June 17, 2022 on Netflix!
