'Spider-Man' vs. 'Venom': This upcoming Marvel movie could make the fan dream come true

The encounter between Spider-Man and Venom has already been seen on the big screen once before, in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3. But that was 15 years ago. Since then, two full Spider-Man reboots have followed, and even Venom has gotten its own film series. A duel between Tom Holland’s current Peter Parker and the symbiote played by Tom Hardy seems long overdue. The problem: Both live in two quite different universes, Spider-Man is based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Venom in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU).

In the video above, our YouTube editor Sebastian reveals how the upcoming Marvel movie Madame Web could see Spider-Man and Venom finally end up in the same universe.

Okay, technically speaking, the two adversaries were already in one universe together. Because in the end credits scene of “Venom 2”, Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock was promoted to the MCU along with Venom living in his body. Reason was in “Spider-Man: No Way Home’ triggered spells from Doctor Strange. However, a post-credits scene in that film transported the human-symbiote duo back before they could even meet Peter Parker.

There was a small remnant of Venom left and it will be exciting to see what the MCU does with it. In his theory, Sebastian has another approach to how Tom Holland’s Spidey could meet Venom.

Madame Web is an upcoming SSU movie releasing in German cinemas on October 5, 2023. The focus is on the eponymous psychic Cassandra Web (Dakota Johnson). Apparently, this is a prequel to the classic Spider-Man story. Because it appears in it a young uncle Ben (Adam Scott) and Peter Parker’s mother Mary (Emma Roberts). There will also be three spider heroines: Sydney Sweeney (Julia Carpenter), Mattie Franklin (Celeste O’Connor) and Anya Corazón (Isabela Merced).

Since one set picture showed Emma Roberts with a baby bump, it raises the suspicion that she is pregnant with Peter and that some villain may be traveling through time to prevent Spider-Man from being born – we have a similar story Yes, already from “Terminator”.

But none of that is so relevant to Sebastian’s theory. What matters is the main character of the film: In the Marvel Comics, Madame Web has access to the so-called Web of Reality, a construct that can be used to travel the multiverse. It would be easy to bring the MCU Spidey into the SSU. At the same time, the MCU could then get a new Spider-Man like Miles Morales.

Then all the villains from the SSU, like Venom, Morbius and Kraven The Hunter finally meet their traditional enemy. These fights probably won’t happen in Madame Web itself, but the film might set them up by landing Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in SSU.

Of course, there are other ways in which such a meeting could take place. Finally, there are multiple ways to travel the multiverse at Marvel. But “Madame Web” with its Web of Reality is an obvious option.

Before “Madame Web”, namely on January 12, 2023, “Kraven The Hunter” starts first. Sebastian has all the information about this SSU film for you in the following video:
