The information is still to be taken with a grain of salt, but it seems that two mythical villains are back in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. The presences of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire are again mentioned.
Spider-Man: No Way Home – the film of all fantasies
Expected for December 15th, the film Spider-Man: No Way Home never ceases to fuel all the fantasies of the fans. Still directed by Jon Watts, the film is likely to conclude the trilogy Spiderman led by Tom Holland. This third opus will follow on from Spider-Man: Far From Home where J. Jonah Jameson, still embodied by JK Simmons, has made a triumphant return to reveal Spider-Man’s secret identity to the world. Now all of Peter Parker’s enemies know he is the weaver.
In any case, Spider-Man: No Way Home serves as a small revolution in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Indeed, the feature film will address the concept of multiverse. According to the first trailer, Dr. Strange, still played by Benedict Cumberbatch, will use a very powerful spell which could be at the origin of the rupture of reality. Several worlds will collide, which will make No Way Home a kind of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in live version.
The true from the false
Necessarily, the movie fuels all the mysteries. And between what is confirmed, which is still on the order of pure hypothesis, and the clues left here and there by Marvel Studios, it’s difficult to navigate. What is certain is that Jamie Foxx will come back in the shoes of Electro, a famous antagonist he played in The Amazing Spider-Man: A Hero’s Fate, and that Alfred Molina will take over the role of Dr Octopus, 17 years later Spider-man 2.
Then the usual trilogy casting returns. Zendaya returns as MJ, Jon Favreau in Happy’s clothes, Jacob Batalon is still Ned Peter’s best friend, and Marisa Tomei always plays an Aunt May like no other.
The main hypotheses
There are also some more or less convincing hypotheses regarding expected returns in No Way Home. Most likely, it is the appearance of Venom. Indeed, from the post-credits scene by Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Tom Hardy and his symbiote to join Jon Watts’ party. Then the first trailer strongly hints that The Green Goblin will also return. It remains to be seen whether it will be Willem Dafoe’s, James Franco’s or Dane DeHaan’s. Other speculation asserts the returns of Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane and Charlie Cox as Daredevil.
But the biggest question obviously concerns the returns of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire as the two former Peter Parker. At the moment, no one is visibly able to confirm or deny their presence in the film. Corn a new evocation of these returns has just upset the fans!
Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man: No Way Home ?
The latest issue of the magazine Empire obviously just dropped a bomb. The American media has indeed just quoted, in its dossier devoted to the Marvel blockbuster, the names of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. In a photograph shared on social networks, the magazine returns to the rumors of recent months and in particular those on the presences of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the film. It didn’t take much for fans around the world to get excited before the slightest confirmation.
Information which is still far from being confirmed, but another element goes in this direction. Always via Empire, the Lizard of The Amazing Spider-Man and the Sandman of Spider-Man 3 would also be in this monstrous reunion. Another image this time clearly reports that indeed the actors Rhys Ifans and Thomas Haden Church would be in the cast of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Information, still to be taken with a grain of salt, but which results in the formation of the Sinister Six on the screen. A first !
Anyway, all this remains to be formalized, either by the first interested, or by Marvel Studios, either during the broadcast of the second trailer, which will not be long in coming. To be continued, therefore, as always with this film …
