In 2015, Daniel Craig and Dave Bautista collaborate for the first time, on the occasion of the film “Specter”. An association that resulted in a vigorous confrontation between their respective characters in the film. However, the former wrestler did not come out unscathed.
Daniel Craig: the last steps of a legendary James Bond
In 2005, Daniel Craig was appointed to become the sixth agent 007, succeeding at the same time to Pierce Brosnan. Very quickly, the British actor distinguished himself from his predecessor: blond with blue eyes, muscular and tortured. An attitude that contrasts radically with the previous James Bond, giving films in the franchise sky-high box office scores ($ 599 million to Casino Royale, 589 million for Quantum of Solace, 1.1 billion for Sky Fall and 880 million for Spectrum).
Considered one of the best actors to have played the famous English spy, Daniel Craig will therefore bow out after To die can wait, scheduled for October 6 in France. A great way to end an adventure that has revealed it to the general public, now allowing it to multiply large film projects (as we have seen with Knives Out and its consequences).
A blow in the nose
In Spectrum, James Bond confronts Blofeld, the ruthless leader of the SPECTER criminal organization. To put him out of harm’s way, he calls on Mr. Hinx, his intimidating henchman (played by Dave Bautista). The two men will then fight with their bare hands in a train. An impressive battle on the screen, but who was also behind the scenes.
Indeed, during the fight, Daniel Craig seriously injured his knee, when Dave Bautista threw him against the wall. However, the British comedian returned the favor by accidentally breaking his nose. In his interview with the site Indiewire, Craig returned to this confrontation that sparked on the set:
I punched him in the nose. I then heard a crackle, I thought “Oh my God no” and I ran away. I thought he was going to sue me, but he was so nice.
In response to this statement, however, Dave Bautista gave a slightly different version on social media, tweeting that Daniel Craig did not run away after the incident. So, he gave her a hug and apologized. Afterwards, the ex-wrestler put his nose back in place and the two resumed filming as if nothing had happened.
